About Us

A few words about me:

I am a stay at home mom of 2 awesome girls, Ashlyn, 7, and Isabella, 1.  I am also wife to a loving and supportive husband, Todd. In the pre-baby world I worked for a major automotive manufacturer as rep in LA for 6 years.   I have a marketing degree from Texas A&M and one of my favorite jobs was working in the College Program at Walt Disney World in the summer of 1997 (You will see my inner mouse come alive in the Disney Bows page).

 How I Got started Making Bows:

I started making bows shortly after my daughter was born in the Fall of 2004.  I needed inexpensive bows that would stay in her hair – and were super cute!  I went to the brick & mortar craft stores - bought a bunch of ribbon and started to craft some bows.  My first attempt was a stretchy lace headband with a snap so you could change them out – it was a great idea, but all your bows had to have snaps. Later a simple monogram button in the middle of a bow inspired me – little did I know that would lead to an obsession and creative outlet!

I started to perfect my bows – created my own designs – and friends started to ask me to make some for them. At the urging of several friends & family members, I created a website on my own and officially started My Bowdacious Designs on July 1, 2007.
